The Real Techniques Brushes You Need...

I am a huge fan of the Real Techniques brushes which is why most of the brushes I own are by RT. They have really impressed me from the outset when they first launched. Even the first brush I ever bought is pretty much in the exact same condition as when I first used it which speaks volumes about the quality of the brushes. It's worth saying that all the brushes are super easy to clean as they're all made with synthetic bristles and they dry quickly too. Across the range the bristles are very soft and I haven't experienced any shedding whatsoever. The new bold metals collection has just recently been released so I thought this would be the perfect time to rave about the RT brushes that I would highly recommend.

Buffing Brush - This is not only one of my favoruite RT brushes, its one of my favourite brushes of all time and I use it everyday without fail. It's makes foundation application so quick and seamless with no streaks, it really does "buff" the foundation in, as the name suggests. The only downside with this brush is that it comes in a set and isn't available to buy separately. It's £22.99 for the collection of four brushes including the contour brush which just so happens to be another one of my top picks...

Contour Brush - This is perfect for contouring if you're looking for something a bit more subtle and it blends both powder and cream products so seamlessly. Another plus with this brush is that it's the perfect shape to fit into the under eye area to blend out concealer.

Multi Task Brush - As it is the multi task brush, you can use this for different purposes such as all over face powder, blush or whatever works for you, but I personally love using it for bronzer. I find it's the perfect size and picks up the right amount of product making it easy to apply and blend onto my cheeks. This again comes within a set called the travel essentials, included in this set is a foundation brush which I use most days to blend out concealer under my eyes and it works really well.

Powder Brush - I wear an all over face powder everyday to set my foundation into place and this brush is perfect for applying it as it's got such a huge brush head so it covers my face very quickly. The bristles are so soft and it leaves a great finish on the skin.

Setting Brush - This brush is a great multi purpose brush which I sometimes use to apply powder to set my under eye concealer as it's small and precise. However most of the time I use this to apply powder highlight to the top of my cheek bones and it's the perfect size to do this.

Flat Contour Brush - This is only a very recent purchase but I can safely say I love it already. Although it's slightly more pricey than the usual price range of the RT brushes, this has a real luxury feel and it's a very unique brush. I love that it's rose gold and the shape of the brush is a lot different from any of the previous brushes that have been released. It's more weighted which allows you to have more control and precision when applying, it's so easy to use and leaves a strong contour which I then slightly blend out using circular motions. It works well with both cream and powder products and is a great brush to use if you're not too confident with contouring as it does all the work for you! If you're into contouring then this is definitely one to invest in.

I could have probably squeezed a couple more RT brushes into this post but these are my top picks and are the ones I don't think anyone would regret buying. They are great everyday brushes and for the most part they are really affordable for what you get. I really hope this post has helped if you are looking to buy some new brushes.
