Afternoon tea is definitely one of my favourite pass times and last week I enjoyed afternoon tea at the Park Lane hotel with my sister. The vibe was very chilled, we arrived around 15 minutes early and got seated straight away and sat on sofas to enjoy the delicious food. The atmosphere was lovely, there was a harpist playing a great mixture of songs which sounded beautiful, she even played a couple of acoustic versions of Frozen songs which I personally loved.
Firstly we were asked which teas we would like and I went for English Breakfast which tasted incredible. Then we were served a plate of sandwiches and savoury food, although we weren't given a huge amount we were thankful in the end as the scones and cakes were so filling... we had to turn down an offer for more! I particularly liked that there was a variety of different scone flavours on offer which were apple and raisin, chocolate chip and plain. There were also different accompaniments to choose from to go with the scones including banana caramel sauce mmm!
There were a couple of disappointments to the day, one was the slow service as the first plate of food came after half an hour when we were told it was only going to be about 5 minutes! It also would have been nice to have a fresh pot of tea brought over a few times throughout the afternoon in order to keep it nice and warm. Nonetheless we still had a great time having a girly day and a nice catch up, plus the food did taste amazing!
I loved the outfit I wore on the day, all black everything with my fur gilet from Topshop. Since we were planning on doing a fair bit of walking, I borrowed my sister's over the knee boots which I knew would be comfortable. I think it's such a simple classic outfit and I wish I had a pair of boots like these myself as I adore how they look!
